The basic rules of firearm safety are designed to keep you and those around you safe. To remember them there is a symple acronym, TABK. This has been taught at Hunter Safety classes for decades.

T  = Treat every firearm as if it were loaded.

A = Always point the firearm in a safe direction

B = Be Sure of your target and beyond.

K = Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire.

Following these basic rules will minimize accidents at home, at the range, or in the woods.
